Volkswagen, one of the well-known German car-manufacturers, produced the Bugatti Veyron in 2005. It came as a full-size Grand tourer initially with a 2-door coupe. Many special editions of this model were released in the market, few of which are Pur Sang, the Hermes Edition, Sang Noir, Targa, Vincero etc. It was believed that Bugatti Type 35 was the main source of inspiration in the making and release of this car.
Featuring an 8.0L W16 engine along with 16 cylinders, the performance of this model was very high. Around 736 kilowatts of energy and more 1250 n-m of torque were generated with the engine of Bugatti Veyron. It also contains a total of 10 different radiators for various purposes. Of these, four radiators were used for cooling the engine and one was used as a heat exchanger for the air-to-liquid intercoolers. Of the remaining five radiators, two were used for air-conditioning system and three were used for oil radiators – one each for transmission, differential and engine.
The top speed that this car could hit was touching 253.5 mph. Reaching 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, Veyron was acclaimed as the fastest street legal car during the time periods of 2005 and 2007. The body style being a four-wheel drive two-door coupe, a powerful mid-engine model was fitted into this amazing sports car.
Every special edition that has been released as the Bugatti Veyron models had its own unique style and definition. Pur Sang for example had an entirely different style of body finishing from the original standard Bugatti Veyron. It did not have many styles on the exterior and finished with a pure-aluminum carbon fibre body that has a clear coat protection.
The Sang Noir has an all-black color palette on the outer look and style of the car. Bleu Centenaire was the special edition that was released when Bugatti celebrated their 100th anniversary. The finishing was also slightly modified where the mid-section was long-drawn-out between the two wings on the hood and a chrome strip up was additionally added on the middle of this completely painted blue car.
The fuel consumption that Veyron consumed was nothing less than any other larger car. 40.4 liters for every 100 kilometers is consumed on the city roads. Being a sports car, when driven at full throttle, the fuel consumption would be greater than 115 liters per 100 kilometers. One would see their fuel tank completely drained out in just twelve minutes when driven at full throttle.
The braking performance of the Bugatti Veyron is also no less incredible. Having a greater resistance with the help of the Carbon fiber-reinforced Silicon Carbide and super sticky tires, Bugatti Veyron stops much faster than one expects. It was then known to be amazing when Bugatti declared that Veyron comes to a standstill from 400 kmph in less than 10 seconds.
